First Course - the till system for cafes, bars and restaurants
First Course is a high-end till system for food establishments – fast food outlets, bars, cafes, tea shops and restaurants. Based on years of experience with touch-screen systems, and comments and feedback from professionals in the industry.
Naturally, it has all the functions you'd expect a till system to have, such as:
- Enabling you to sell the food and drink products you have in your outlet – producing till receipts, kitchen order tickets (KOTs), etc.
- Sending KOTs to one of three 'till receipt' printers.
- Helping you manage your sales by letting you decide which touch-screen buttons are larger or smaller, coloured in sets or randomly, and which buttons open up further food items options.
- Keeping track of table numbers and order numbers.
- Having simple cashing up routines - or sophisticated options such as multiple floats for each till, automatic calculation of the float for tomorrow, cashing-up as many times per day as required, etc.
- The ability to handle Do-You-Wants, such as 'Do you want potato or salad?', where the answers may raise further Do-You-Wants, such as 'Do you want chips or mash?', and where all the various answers can be made to change the menu price.
- Each product can have a recipe, costed automatically from your food item purchase orders, which tells you your input costs for each dish.
- Reporting is simple yet comprehensive.
- Reprinting of receipts and KOTs, refunds, payment by up to 6 methods of payment (cash, Visa, MasterCard etc).
- Cash received in euros is shown separately at cashing up time.
Software with Experience
But more importantly, it was designed, re-designed and re-designed again by experienced fast food retailers, so that it's not just the food that is fast, but the software as well.
If you have more than one food outlet location, the others can upload their sales results at the end of each cashing up, so you can download them and know what's going on without leaving your seat.
There's a comprehensive staff management system, which includes rotas and clocking in and out.
But the biggest thing of all is that the software is called 'First Course' – it's not the main course and certainly not the coffee to finish.
